Dr. Stanton graduated the four year program in three years completing his “Doctor of Chiropractic” (D.C.) degree in 1984. After 3 years of practice in N.Y. he moved to Burke, Virginia and in 1987 began practice there.

In 1998 he began the 3-year, 360 hr. diplomate program in Chiropractic Orthopedics offered by Logan Chiropractic College and sanctioned by the American Chiropractic Association. This course is for those D.C.’s who want advanced training in diagnostic and treatment methods. In 1992 he completed this program after passing a written and practical exam. He was one of 3 people in his class to pass both parts on the first try.

Since then Dr. Stanton has taken various continuing education courses including the topics of sports injuries, diagnostics, patient care, pediatrics and the latest research. He also holds a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, completed in 2006.

Dr. Stanton is a former professor of Anatomy and Physiology at NOVA College. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association. He also works with a panel of doctors to review and remediate other chiropractors who participate with CareFirst BCBS. He is a panel physician for many insurers and has rendered second opinions and expert testimony in numerous legal cases.

“After a serious motorcycle accident in 2000, I had injuries to my neck and pelvis along with a fractured leg. The surgeons fixed my leg but after several months I was still unable to run or work out due to the neck and pelvic pain. Dr. Stanton helped me get rid of the pain and restore my range of motion. I am now running competitively again.”
